How the Process Works

Purchase Confirmed

Within 48 hours of sale

Buyer makes an offer or accepts a price

Shipping to Verifier

Within 48 hours

Seller receives a prepaid shipping label from PlugZ and ships the item to an approved verifier

Authentication

24–48 hours

Our verifier inspects: tags, stitching, box, smell, and materials, NFC/serial (if available), photos compared to original listing, item condition and accessories

PlugZ NFC Tag Applied

During authentication

If approved, the item gets a PlugZ smart tag (NFC) linked to your order and stored in our system

Shipped to Buyer

2–5 business days

The verified item is shipped to the buyer with tracking and authentication confirmation

What Happens if the Item Fails?

If the item is fake, swapped/altered or not matching the listing:

The seller will not be paid • The item will be retained or destroyed • The buyer will get a full refund • The seller may be banned permanently

Who are the verifiers?

PlugZ verifiers are selected stores, boutiques, and trained individuals approved after onboarding. They are monitored by our AI and QA team.

Can I track the authentication process?

Yes! In your PlugZ dashboard, you'll see: status updates in real time, authentication result, and when it ships to you.

What if the item is lost or stolen?

PlugZ covers lost items ONLY if the carrier officially confirms loss or delivery to the wrong address. We do NOT cover: theft after confirmed delivery, delivery delays, or buyer-entered wrong address.

Can I request authentication outside a sale?

Not yet. Authentication is currently available ONLY for items sold through PlugZ. We're working on PlugZ ID: a tool for verifying outside items and logging collections.

What if I disagree with the authentication?

You can open a dispute within 72 hours of receiving the item. The item will be re-verified. If we confirm an error, you'll be refunded. If the item is authentic, no refund will be issued.
